Yoga
"Learn to love and appreciate yourself. That’s the first step."
Dana Humphrey – Yoga Instructor
Dana Humphrey’s fitness journey began in the 80s and 90s, where she grew up moving to the beat of Jazzercise and the high-energy rhythms of Billy Blanks’ Tae-Bo. Active from an early age, Dana played soccer for twenty years, ran cross-country in high school, and later took on lacrosse at SDSU, all while juggling her role at the gym. Yoga was always in her periphery, serving as a way to stretch and recover after intense workouts.
Her true love for yoga didn’t emerge until 2017, when she discovered Hot Yoga at Bikram/Bode in Manhattan. This was the turning point that would reshape her practice. After years of participating in triathlons, marathons, and even completing an Ironman, Dana turned to Hot Yoga to heal a herniated disc. What started as a therapeutic experience soon blossomed into a deep and lasting passion. The practice not only helped her regain physical alignment, including adding half an inch to her height, but it also offered the peace and mental clarity she had been seeking.
Today, Dana’s yoga practice is an integral part of her life, blending her athletic background with the restorative benefits she’s come to cherish. She loves guiding others on their own journeys to physical and mental wellness, whether through healing, strength-building, or simply finding balance in their lives.
Her journey from high-impact sports to yoga has inspired her to approach teaching with compassion and a deep understanding of how the body heals and grows. Whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, Dana’s classes offer a welcoming environment where mind, body, and spirit can connect and thrive.
